Failure Mode and Effects Analysis - FMEA

This session is a very hands on approach to the FMEA process as outlined in the AIAG Manual (4th Edition).  The overall process of the FMEA for a system, design, process or service is discussed.  The table development and completion is highlighted and the participants perform an FMEA and present their results during the session.  The participants also review Flow Diagrams as a starting point for the FMEA.

The training can be customized for either a Design FMEA (DFMEA) or a Process FMEA (PFMEA) or both can be accommodated in an extended session.  Participants are encouraged to bring a simple example of a design or process for the application portion of the class.

This material can be linked to Control Planning as the output of the PFMEA is used as one of the inputs for developing the manufacturing Control Plan.

It is recommended that the client have a project available for the participants to work on right after the training to further reinforce the FMEA process.  We can provide additional consulting during this live application of the FMEA process.

This is an instructor led training session.

This training session can also use MINITAB Quality Companion.

Either a DFMEA or a PFMEA session is one day in duration.
Covering both DFMEA and PFMEA requires two days duration.
Adding the Control Plan Development requires one additional day to either of the above options.
